Although this product was designed as a convenient card reader, it turns out to be the perfect accessory for the TravelMike owner. With the forward-sloping design of the main surface, it perfectly aims the snub-nosed mic of the TravelMike your direction. For the notebook user, this device allows you increased flexibility in where you situate your TravelMike. For the desktop user with the computer located a distance from your work surface, this hub acts as an ideal way to bring your TravelMike to your desk.
This product is made in China and is durably constructed (made of the same indestructable ABS plastic used in LEGOS). It will attach to any USB port. It does not require independent power and draws everything it needs from your available USB port. If you haven't already purchased your TravelMike, be sure to save a few dollars by purchasing the TravelMike-Unversal Base combination. Finally, if you don't have a need for any of the other slots, save some money by purchase any of our 3 budget USB bases shown below in "related products".

Note: this is not a powered USB hub and there may be a limit to the number of USB devices you can connect to it, particularly if these individual devices draw more than 100 mA of current. The TravelMike draws almost no current. This is more of a consideration with devices such as an external hard disk. In general, devices that have their own power, such as printers, draw very little current through the USB port.
