Although made with transcriptionist in mind, this is the perfect device to use if you want to control aspects of your speech recognition software by foot. We carry this primarily for the pathologist or other practitioner who's keyboard access may be limited due to a microscope or other device and needs a way to turn the Dragon microphone off an on without clicking a hot key.

Comments: In order to use this you will need software to allow the pedal to emulate keystrokes on you pc and allow assignment of Dragon "hotkey" functionality to pedal depression. A very simple and cost-free program called PedalWare is available from NCH Software at http://www.nch.com.au/footpedal/index.html Once this simple program is running you can run the small wizard built into the program to assign each of the 3 foot pedals on this device to emulate any computer keystroke. If these keystrokes are also set as "hotkeys" within Dragon, pressing the foot pedal will accomplish anything you want, including turning the microphone on or off, press-to-talk microphone function, emulation of commands (Dragon 10 only), etc.
