This simple foot pedal, imported from China and very cost-effective, is the perfect accessory for the speech recognition user, gamer, or other computer user who needs to emulate a key or key combination with a press of your foot. While made of plastic, it is simply constructed and uses an optical system to sense a button push, so we expect this will be ruged and long lasting. It comes with a disk and Windows-based software which allows you to program this device to emulate any key or key-combination you desire. Once programmed using the included software on a Windows machine, the programming will be remembered and this device can be used with essentially any other computer, including a Mac.
For Dragon users, this USB foot pedal can be programmed to control the Dragon microphone in a "push-to-talk" method. We have found that programming the device to emulate an "alt + T" key combination and programming this same combination in the Dragon Options > Hotkeys section to control the microphone in a push-to-talk method works beautifully.
Features:
- USB interface
- Plug and play compatibility with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and Mac OS. We haven't yet tested on Windows 11.
- Programming requires access to a Windows based computer
- Function: can program to emulate any key, key combination, left or right mouse click or character string
- Cord length 72 inch
- Included software for altering key emulation - alternatively, you can download control software directly at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yeBb26e_JapXJPpIOQwoBpUPhkbCkuDT/view?usp=sharing This is a zip file and you'll need to extract it. The file is very small (2.37 Mb) and consists of a single screen from which you can assign functionality to the foot pedal. It requires no instruction, except to say once you have assigned a function to a pedal depression, be sure to press on the "Set" button.

For serious Dragon users requiring more flexibility, we strongly suggest you purchase our VEC "INS-USB" foot pedal and Octopus USB Controller for even more programming options and flexibility.
Note: Although this can be used with Octopus USB Controller (OUC), OUC is designed to accept only a single key input, so you must program the foot pedal to emulate just a single key if you plan to use it with OUC. For reasons we do not understand, this foot pedal does not work through OUC for a press-to-talk programming with Dragon, although can do this directly with Dragon (bypassing OUC).
