This is a simple, cost-effective microphone stand which will conveniently mount a hand-held microphone for use with speech recognition, broadcasting, and other uses. This stand includes both a clamp for desk mounting, and a screw in bracket for permanent installations. The beauty of this type of set-up is that 1) your microphone doesn't need to be worn or held (like headset and hand-held microphones), 2) it takes up virtually no valuable desk "real estate", and 3) it can be easily moved into position or moved out of the way depending upon your needs.

Comments: This is the perfect product for the speech recognition user wanting the convenience of a desk mounted microphone and at a reasonable price. While it has an XML cable which passes through the arm itself, this cable can be removed if you plan to use it with a USB microphone (the cable needs to be cut with wire cutters or heavy duty scissors in order to remove it). We like that this stand comes with two mounting methods (clamp and screw-in mounts). It is preconfigured for a light (about 1 lb) microphone, but if you intend to use it with a heavier microphone, the studs to which the upper spring attaches can be moved to another position and this will allow increased tension to support a heavier microphone (a screwdriver is needed to move the stud if you decide to do so).
